“It is my intention to present – through the medium of photography – intuitive observations of the natural world which may have meaning to the spectators.”
— Ansel Adams

Behind the Lens

My name is Chris Heaton and I am Colorado native and landscape photographer. Currently I am living in Wheat Ridge with my wife, Kayla, and 2 kids Berkley (4) and Brooks (2). I have had an interest in photography since I was a child. I remember my first good picture I took in 5th grade using a disposable camera while at our school’s Outdoor Lab program. We had just climbed a hill on Mount Evan’s and the valley opened up as a winter storm begun dropping snowflakes. I framed the scene between a couple of pine branches and snapped the picture that I would hang in my room for years. As years past this interest in photography never faded, I took several photography classes in high school and worked at Best Buy right as digital cameras were coming to market. I begun to explore Colorado more - hiking 14ers, camping, kayaking, etc. - and used my photography to capture these moments and memories. Today, I like to try and adventure into the outdoors at least once a week and photography has taken me places I would have never gone otherwise!
