Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This page explains what information Heaton.Photography ("we," "us") collects when you use this site, why, and who it's shared with. This is a plain-language summary of our actual practices, not a generic template — if anything here changes, we'll update this page.
What we collect
- Order information — name, shipping address, and payment details, collected and processed directly by Stripe when you check out. We don't see or store your full card number.
- Email address — if you sign up for our newsletter, request a cart reminder, or contact us through the site.
- Basic site analytics — pages visited, used to understand what's popular and fix what isn't. This doesn't identify you personally.
How we use it
- To process and ship your order, and to contact you about it if needed.
- To send the newsletter or a cart reminder, only if you signed up for it — every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To respond to messages sent through the Contact page.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. We use a small number of service providers to run this site, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Cloudinary (image and order data hosting), and Vercel (site hosting and analytics). Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.
Cookies and tracking
Our site analytics don't use tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage for a few small, non-identifying things — remembering that you've already seen the welcome popup, or that you've dismissed a banner — none of which is shared with anyone or used to track you across other sites.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in that email.
- Ask us to delete your information by reaching out through the Contact page — we'll remove what we reasonably can, aside from records we're required to keep for tax or legal purposes.
- Ask what information we have about you, the same way.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
