Sun & Moon Planner
Drop the pin where you'll stand. The lines show exactly where the sun and moon rise and set that day, so you can line up a full moon behind a peak or know which way the alpenglow will hit. Pick a date, then slide the time to see where the sun and moon are at any moment.

How to use it
- Moon over a peak: find a full or nearly full moon night (see moonrise & moonset times), then move the pin until the moonrise line runs through the peak. The farther away you stand, the bigger the moon looks next to it with a long lens.
- Alpenglow: at sunrise the light hits peaks that face the sunrise line; at sunset, peaks facing the sunset line.
- Behind the mountains: times assume a flat horizon. If the topo map shows ridges along a line, the sun or moon will appear later (or disappear earlier) than listed.
- Share a plan: the page address updates as you move the pin and change the date, so you can text it to a friend.
