The Story Behind This Shot

A single cottonwood standing alone on the snowy prairie at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in Commerce City, Colorado, finished in soft black and white with a white vignette. An animal is just visible far off to the right, almost lost in the falling snow. It was shot the same snowy afternoon as the bison herd, a little earlier and farther down the wildlife drive.
