The Story Behind This Shot

First light catching the summits of the Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado, with the peaks glowing orange against a clearing sky while the valley below is still in shade. Gold aspens climb the slopes on the right and Maroon Lake holds the shoreline in a dark, still mirror. Fall color and alpenglow at the same moment is the reason photographers line this shore before dawn. A classic Colorado mountain sunrise print and a natural centerpiece for a living room or office wall.
