The Story Behind This Shot

A burning orange band of sunrise sky above a deep purple ridgeline and the Castles on Ohio Pass near Crested Butte, Colorado, with fall aspens filling the foreground in layers of orange and gold. A vertical frame lets the sky, the peaks, and the forest each get their own band of color. The first ten minutes of light here change the whole palette. A dramatic, color-rich fall sunrise print for a tall wall.
