- Rustler's Gulch — A 9-mile out-and-back near Crested Butte that draws a steady crowd of hikers and trail runners from May through October. Dogs are welcome on leash, and the gulch itself opens into some of the better wildflower meadows in the area once you're a couple miles in — worth a wide-angle lens with a flower patch in the foreground and the peaks stacked behind it.
