The Story Behind This Shot
First light on a peak above Rustler's Gulch near Crested Butte, Colorado, with a hillside of white and yellow wildflowers in the foreground and the creek winding through the meadow below. The color only lasts a few minutes before the sun climbs high enough to flatten it. Rustler's Gulch, north of Gothic, is one of the best wildflower hikes around Crested Butte, the self-proclaimed wildflower capital of Colorado, and mid-July is peak. A fresh, colorful summer print with real depth.
