The Story Behind This Shot
A full basin of gold aspens under a moody gray sky with a dark ridge closing off the far end. Flat light is the aspen photographer's cheat code, because every leaf holds its color instead of blowing out. Dry meadow grass in the foreground, spruce mixed through the gold.
A saturated, moody autumn print that does not need a blue sky to work.
