The Story Behind This Shot

A stack of lenticular clouds glowing gold over snowfields at sunset, layered like plates above the peak. The wind that builds those clouds was doing its best to knock the tripod over the whole time. Colorado gets these on the days the mountains decide to make their own weather. A rare, sculptural cloud photograph that gives a wall something genuinely unusual to look at.
