The Story Behind This Shot
A lens-shaped cloud parked over the snowfields of Pikes Peak while the last gold of the day lights its underside. Mountain wave clouds like this build when the wind comes over the summit hard enough to stack the air. Below the ridge, the forested slopes have already gone to shadow.
A distinctive winter mountain print with a sky most people have never seen in person.
