The Story Behind This Shot
One aspen leaf catching the sunrise dead center and throwing a clean starburst, with the rest of the grove melting into gold bokeh behind it. Pale bark, warm light, and a fall morning near Old Dillon Dam Road that did not need a grand view to be worth stopping for. These pockets of light last about a minute before the sun climbs past them. An intimate autumn photograph with enough warmth to lift a small wall on a gray day.
