The Story Behind This Shot

A wide view across Sloan's Lake in Denver, Colorado, as sunrise lights a band of cloud orange above a thin line of skyline and the calm water reflects it in gold and teal. Shooting from the west shore keeps the city small on the horizon and gives the sky and lake most of the frame. Early November mornings here are cold and still, which is exactly what a clean reflection needs. A bold, color-saturated sunrise print with a minimal skyline.
