A gold star tree-topper wired to the crown of a pine partway up the Manitou Incline, snow in the branches behind it and no explanation offered. Somebody hauled that up a couple thousand vertical feet of railroad ties on their own time. Colorado has a lot of these small unsigned gestures if you look.
