The Story Behind This Shot

A single firework bursting in a spray of gold and white over Arvada, Colorado, on the Fourth of July. A long exposure lets each spark draw a full line across the black sky. Shot from a tripod with the shutter open for the whole burst, it takes a few tries to get one this symmetrical. A graphic, celebratory print for a game room or a summer display.
