The Story Behind This Shot

Aurora filling the frame edge to edge over Sterling, magenta on top, green underneath, and a thin dark band of cloud cutting through the middle. There is no foreground in this one because there did not need to be. Colorado got about three hours of this and most of the state slept through it. A rare, immersive night-sky print with extraordinary color.
