The Story Behind This Shot

A figure standing on an empty dirt road outside Sterling while green and magenta aurora runs across the whole sky above the plains. Colorado sits well south of the usual aurora belt, so a night like this comes along maybe once a decade. Nobody in the frame was expecting it.
